Player Bio
Matt Verrinder’s journey with Rayleigh CC began in the youth setup in 2003, seamlessly transitioning to senior cricket with his adult debut in 2005. Over the years, Matt has established himself as an exceptionally capable wicketkeeper-batter. He has scored over 4,000 runs at a solid average of 20.50, but his work behind the stumps is equally impressive. Boasting over 170 catches, 25 stumpings, and 11 run-outs, he is a multiple-time winner of the Club’s coveted fielding cup. A seasoned leader, Matt has captained various sides – including a long stint at the helm of the 5th XI in the 2010s, and has captained all teams at the Club with the exception of the 2nd XI. More recently, he has taken on the ultimate leadership responsibility, stepping up as both 1st XI and Club Captain to guide the top side following their relegation from the Premier Division.
