Pegasus & Corringham were the visitors to the 1st XI. Rayleigh batted first and totalled a respectable 188, Marcus Cornish (40) and Matt Williams (33) top scoring. The visitors passed this total with the loss of 6 wickets thus avoiding relegation by 2 points and consigning Old Chelmsfordians to join Rayleigh in Division 1 next

Batting first, Wickford Under 15s were restricted to a total of 78 by good tight bowling and three direct hit run outs.  This target looked well within reach with George Barker and Christian Humphries looking comfortable against their opening attack but when both were run out in the same over and thereafter wickets falling steadily the game seemed

The final of the South Essex District Cricket Board Under 15 Competition will be held this coming Sunday, 4th September at Woodside Park, Benfleet starting at 9.30 am.
