Christmas Message from the Chairman

Festive greetings to you all at this special time of year.

Firstly, following the well attended AGM in November, it’s important we recognise the immense contribution Brian has made to RCC in his role as Chairman over the past three decades and the significant foundations that have been laid by the committee under his leadership. Well done Brian, a well earnt rest from the role!

My ambition as the incoming Chairman is to continue the progress developing ground facilities, improving playing standards and ensuring cricket continues to be fun throughout the club. It’s pleasing to hear that winter nets have been well attended and will re-start again on 20th January 2025. I hope to see many of you down there in the new year.

The committee have been busy over the past few weeks; purchasing new sightscreens for the 2nd ground, acquiring a slip cradle from a neighbouring club, making essential repairs to the clubhouse and forming development plans to renovate the kitchen and bar in time for the new season. Volunteers and tradesmen are welcome to assist with the works ahead, so if you’re qualified or simply “handy” then reach out to the committee as there’s plenty to do.

Your club is well managed and in good financial health, despite rising costs. With a capable committee, the future direction looks very positive but we do need greater involvement in the pre-season works parties from all members.

Membership fees are due and you will have recently had communication from Richard with the online forms now available to complete. Look out for key dates in the new year on our next newsletter.

Finally, I’d like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year!

New sightscreens for the old ground

Thanks to DHH Panel Products, the club has been able to purchase a set of sightscreens for the old ground.

We expect delivery in February. We’d like to say a massive thank you to the team at DHH Panel Products for supporting the club for another season

2025 Annual Subscriptions

Subs and match fees remain unchanged for 2025. Players must pay via monthly standing order by 31st January 2025, or in full by 31st March 2025. Membership forms for adults and colts are now live—visit our website for details and to set up your payment.

That’s a wrap!

Our first ten weeks of winter indoor coaching for the colts have flown by, and what a fantastic start it’s been! A huge thank you to our amazing coaches and dedicated club volunteers for making it all possible. We’ll be back in action in January 2025. Until then, enjoy the break and get ready for more cricket fun in the new year!
