Rayleigh Cricket Club takes the protection of the data we hold about you as a member seriously and is committed to respecting your privacy. This notice explains how we may use personal information we collect, how we comply with data protection law, and what your rights are.

4. Sources of Personal Data

We obtain personal data from:

  • The individual registering to join the club
  • The parent or legal guardian registering a child to join the club
  • Club coaches and junior co-ordinators
  • Play-Cricket database
  • Club website

5. Automated Decisions

We do not take any automated decisions based on your personal data.

6. Purposes for Processing

The Club will process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Administering bookings and attendance at sessions
  • Dealing with medical needs and specific requirements
  • Supporting the delivery of cricket sessions
  • Training and competition entry
  • Reporting of participation, incidents, figures, and trends (including equality and inclusion information)
  • Advertising and marketing (via opt-in)
  • Equality, diversity, and inclusion monitoring

7. Who We Disclose Your Data To

  • Leagues to which we are affiliated
  • ECB coaches, volunteers, and junior co-ordinators for administering training sessions
  • Volunteers who work at cricket clubs/venues to support the delivery of sessions
  • The County Cricket Board that supports the local Cricket Club whose programmes you have registered for

9. Your Right to Withdraw Consent

Where you have given your consent to any processing of personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. If you do, it will not affect the lawfulness of any processing for which we had consent prior to your withdrawing it.

10. Location of Your Personal Data

The Club stores your personal data securely within the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures — such as password-protected databases and restricted access — to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. If data is processed via third-party platforms (e.g., Play-Cricket), we ensure they comply with UK data protection standards.

11. Data Retention

We will not retain your personal data for longer than is reasonable and necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We shall retain your personal data for as long as you are registered with Rayleigh Cricket Club as a member. Two years after you cease to be a member or play an active part in the Club, we shall delete your data.
