It was a balanced week of league cricket for Rayleigh CC, with three wins and three losses recorded. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams led the charge, securing comprehensive wins. Shane McDonagh spearheaded the 4th team win with a memorable maiden five-wicket haul to help the team return to winning ways in division ten. Meanwhile, the 1st XI fell short in a 600+ run game against Hatfield Peverel. Rob Littler starred with a magnificent century to help the 1st XI post 312.
The only other win of the week came from the youth teams, with the U15 Eagles comfortably beating Leigh-on-Sea Lightning on Monday 29 June. Thomas Barker (3-1-4-2) starred with the ball, while Oliver Barker hit a sublime 49* to secure a five wicket win.

We’re gearing up for a fantastic cricket week this year, with plenty of fixtures and events planned throughout. The 2026 Presidents Week runs from Monday 27th July to Sunday 2nd August.

Century number 36 is in the books! Despite injuries and setbacks over the last few years, Rob Littler has proven he’s back at the peak of his powers in 2026. On Saturday, he smashed a brilliant 123, reaching his milestone 36th ton (7th for Rayleigh) in just 101 balls.
