Now in its fourth year, we invite all members, friends, and family to join us on Friday 2nd August to celebrate the life of Robbie Baird. The match is due to start after 6pm, with the bar open early and food available throughout the evening.
Robbie Baird was a passionate supporter of Rayleigh CC. He, along with his family, played a significant role in the Club, especially during the years surrounding the construction of the new pavilion. His son, Craig, was a prominent member of our early Colt’s teams and later the 1st XI. Robbie enjoyed attending matches and participating in club events, always ready to share a story about his famous catch while filling in at Woodham Mortimer: “Caught Robbie Baird, Bowled Craig Baird. Easy game this!”
Robbie’s sister, Elaine, helped the Club secure preferential prices for the bar and provided the original furniture for our pavilion. Robbie’s contributions and presence were deeply valued, and he will be greatly missed.
