Although winter has well and truly arrived, and the 2025 cricket season may already feel like a distant memory, the countdown to cricket in the new year has begun.

As we step into 2026, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes at Rayleigh CC. From winter training and essential maintenance work to planning for the months ahead — including the all-important Annual General Meeting (AGM) taking place next week — the work at the club never really switches off.

Welcome to your January 2026 New Year Edition of the Rayleigh CC Round Up, as we take a look at where we are now and what’s coming as we continue building towards the 2026 season.

AGM Reminder: 13th January

The club’s Annual General Meeting takes place on Tuesday 13 January at 7:30pm in the clubhouse, and all members are strongly encouraged to attend. The AGM is your opportunity to hear directly from the Committee, ask questions, and help shape the future direction of Rayleigh CC.

Following the 2025 season, the Committee has reflected on both the progress made and the challenges faced across playing performance, availability, facilities and long-term sustainability. While the club remains in a stable position off the field, there is a clear focus on raising cricketing standards, supporting player development, investing in facilities, and ensuring Rayleigh CC continues to thrive in the years ahead

This is your club, and member involvement is vital – please make every effort to attend, have your say, and get involved as we build towards the 2026 season.

Indoor Training: Winter 2026 Schedule

Indoor cricket training resumes from January 2026, running until the end of March.

For adult training sessions, please ensure you turn up before the session starts. This allows time to allocate individuals to net lanes.

Coaches will be in touch with inidivual colt teams in due course to confirm timeslots for each age group.

2026 Membership

All players are required to complete a membership form for 2026 and to arrange to pay their fees (annual subscriptions, match & indoor net fees) via standing order.

Membership forms must be completed by 31st January 2026.

Website Improvements

We’re pleased to share that a series of improvements to the Rayleigh CC website will be taking place over the coming months – aimed at improving usability, accessibility, and how we share information across the club.

You may experience short periods where the website is unavailable between January and March 2026.

Teamwear Order

The Club is looking to place a bulk order with Surridge in February 2026, which will include a discount on orders and free delivery. We are also working with Surridge to slightly update the teamwear catalogue for the 2026 season, to reflect requests from the membership.

Watch out for updates from the Club once we look to place the order.

Rayleigh CC Tour 2026

Following the proposal / expression of interest sent to members last season, we are pleased to be pushing ahead with plans for a tour during the 2026 season.

We are finalising the details and will be in touch with members shortly regarding confirmed price, dates and other details.
