The opposition won the toss and batted first, posting 179 all out – thanks to some tight bowling from Rayleigh. Phil Everitt was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets from eight overs (8.3-1-53-3), supported by Henry Murrell (4-0-24-2), Jake Ashworth (5-1-16-2) and Nick Green (8-1-23-2).
In response, Rayleigh started excellently with some lusty blows from Steve Lynch (50), forming a 63 run opening partnership with Chris Henderson. Despite some mature batting from Sam Law (26), Rayleigh collapsed to 102 all out from just under 30 overs.
