Now in its fifth year, we warmly invite all members, friends, and family to join us this Friday, 1st August, for our match in memory of Robbie Baird.
The game will begin shortly after 6pm, with the bar open early and hot food served throughout the evening.
Food options on the night will include:
- Jacket potatoes with chilli or beans
- Cheeseburgers and chips
All meals are £5 each. Please pay at the bar and collect a food ticket to redeem your meal. We’ll be catering for up to 60 people and would love to see a strong turnout to support this special evening.
Robbie Baird was a much-loved figure at Rayleigh CC, both as a supporter and contributor – particularly during the time of the pavilion’s development. His son, Craig, came through the Colts and represented the 1st XI, while Robbie himself was always a lively presence at matches and social events. One of his favourite stories? That legendary moment at Woodham Mortimer: “Caught Robbie Baird, Bowled Craig Baird. Easy game this!”
His sister Elaine also supported the club behind the scenes, helping secure bar deals and the pavilion’s original furniture. Robbie’s legacy lives on in our club’s spirit, and this event is a great chance to celebrate it together.
We hope to see you there.
