Welcome to the March edition of our RCC Round-Up! It’s been a busy month since our February newsletter, with plenty of ground improvements underway as we prepare for the new season.
With the season fast approaching, this will be our final monthly newsletter—starting from the week of 14th April, we’ll be moving to weekly updates.
If you’d like to support the club by contributing to future newsletters, please get in touch with Tom Peppiatt at tom@rayleighcc.com. Whether it’s helping captains with match reports or uploading scorebooks to Play-Cricket, any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Bar & Pavilion Refurbishment
The refurbishment of the bar area has now been completed and was used for the first time last night (Saturday 29th) for the quiz night.
A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved with the project. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of members frequenting the bar throughout the 2025 season and beyond.

Work Weekend: Saturday 12th April
As we get closer to the start of the season, the club is asking for volunteers to help us get ready for cricket!
If you are available on Saturday 12th April, the club is holding a work party at Rawreth Lane. Jobs include painting, cleaning the pavilion, groundwork and a range of other jobs. All tools will be provided.
If you can spare some time, any amount will help. Please email Brad via bradleywalker@ernestdoe.com if you can spare your time.

Outdoor Nets: New Booking System
We are pleased to confirm that the outdoor net facility at Rawreth Lane will open to members from 1st April 2025.
Unlike previous years, the nets must be booked prior to use (outside of scheduled training sessions). This is to ensure the safety of those using the nets, but also to protect against unauthorised use and potential damage.
Booking the net is simple. Head over to our booking page, select a date and time-slot and enter your details.
Quiz Night Raises £700
On Saturday (29th March) we hosted our annual quiz night. Phil Wolff returned to quiz master duties and a fantastic night was had by all.
Over 80 people attended the evening, with over £700 being raised for the club.
A big thank you to Spinal & Natural Healthcare, The Health Owl, Ernest Doe, NP Consulting Group and Decor Solutions for donating raffle prizes.
We are looking to hold another quiz night towards the end of the season.

Planned Socials
We have a number of club socials planned for the next few months, including:
- Chairman’s Night: Friday 18th April. Join us for Chairman’s Night as we gear up for the new season! The newly refurbished bar opens at 19:00. Expect pool and darts tournaments running throughout the night. Light snacks will also be provided. Don’t miss out on a great evening to kick off the season in style!
- Golf Day: Friday 29th April at Mardyke Valley Golf Club. Fully booked.
- Newmarket Race Day: 26th June. Places are still available for our race day and a coach has been reserved, leaving Rayleigh around 10am. All those who expressed interest will be contacted with full details in the next few weeks. Get in touch if you wish to attend – all are welcome, including partners, friends and family.
