A better week with four wins and two defeats for the Saturday League teams and another convincing win for the Women & Girls XI.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 1. The 1st XI visited Rankins 1st XI who batted first and scored 183-9, Matt Gilmore taking 6-38. Rayleigh\’s reply started badly and a defeat looked likely but the tail wagged well and knocks by Chris Frost (38) and Ian Turnbull (26*) saw the 1st XI home by 1 wicket in a closely contested game.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 3. The 2nd XI hosted Tillingham 1st XI and batting first totalled 191, Chris Eldridge (47) and Sam Verrinder (36) leading the scoring. This score was never going to be enough and the visitors passed this score for the loss of 4 wickets.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 5. The 3rd XI entertained Sandon Sports and batting first totalled 250-8, Steve Adams hitting 121. In reply the visitors scored 150-7 to give the 3rd XI a first win by 100 runs.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 8. The 4th XI visited Mountnessing who batted first and scored 205-8. The 4th XI passed this total for the loss of seven wickets, Phil Wolff leading the scoring with 52 not out.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 11. The 5th XI travelled to Boreham 2nd XI and batting first totalled 324-4, Matt Verrinder (136) and Richard Verrinder (89) putting on 271 for the 2nd wicket. Boreham were bowled out for 48 to give the visitors victory by 276 runs.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 12. The 6th XI played Hornchurch Athletic 4th XI at Rawreth Lane, The visitors were invited to bat and totalled 234-8, Jai Patel taking 6-52. Rayleigh had no answer to some accurate bowling and were bowled out for 18.
Beaumont Seymour League South Division. The Women & Girls XI went to Kelvedon and Feering who batted first and scored 58-8, Louise Harmsworth taking 4-19. Jodie Billett (24*) and Kelly Castle (18*) led Rayleigh to a 7 wicket win.
