The U15 Eagles played their first fixture of the year against Southend-on-Sea & EMT U15 Scorpions earlier today. The fixture was the first of the SECPG Cup.
Batting first, Rayleigh posted an impressive 133-1 from their 20 overs. Sam Keene top scored with 40* (44 balls), supported by Josh Francis (30) and Henry Murrell (37*).
As Rayleigh took to the field, SOSEMT batted well and looked on course to win the match with opener Harry Clarke retiring on 35* and Luke Clarke retiring on 37*. Tight bowling from Rayleigh soon saw wickets tumble, with Sam Keene taking three wickets (2-1-2-3), supported by Benny Mahoney, Henry Murrell, Luke Gould and Ryan Hart who all took one wicket each from their two overs. A handful of run outs sealed the win for the U15 Eagles!
