4th XI

The 4th XI welcomed St Andrews to the old ground, who the toss and elected to bat first on a hard and dry wicket. Rayleigh put in an admirable bowling display. Sangeet Prasad (2-36) also Alex Coleman (1-34) also bowled well on their return to the 4th team. Unfortunately, Rayleigh conceded too many runs in the last five overs, with St Andrews setting a target of 225 – which looked achievable on a wicket that did very little.

Rayleigh started off well, with Neil Noble (52) batting beautifully – supported by Steve Adams (27). Despite being in a good position, partnerships lower down the order never got going and Rayleigh were bowled out for 156 in 35 overs.
