Report of week ending 21 August

One win and five losses (one by default) for the Rayleigh teams in the T Rippon Mid Essex League.

The holiday season certainly took its toll on Saturday at the club with an unprecedented level of non-availability and a number of players playing two or even three teams above their normal level.

T Rippon Mid Essex Premier Division.  The 1st XI travelled to Great Baddow 1st XI and bowled the home side out for 129, Liam Druce taking 4-43. This target should have been well within reach but on an indifferent pitch the team subsided to an all out total of 104 only Ian Turnbull (29) offering any real resistance.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 2.  The 2nd XI entertained Tillingham 1st XI and batting first were bowled out for 151 having been 128-3, Colin Mayor (48) and Sam Verrinder (33) leading the scoring. The visitors passed this score for the loss of 3 wickets in 36th over.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 5. The 3rd XI hosted Brookweald 2nd XI and batting first scored 165-10, Tony Catling (74) leading the scoring. The visitors passed the target with loss of 4 wickets, Simon Harwood taking 2-0 in his only over.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 7. The 4th XI went to Boreham 1st XI, and batting first were bowled out for 146, Kelly Castle (34) and Duncan Baldwin (31) top scoring.  The home side passed the target for the loss of 4 wickets.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 10.  The 5th XI went to Beaulieu Park to play Wickham 2nd XI and batting first amassed 264-6, Mark Stratton (104), Matt Verrinder (36) and Aby Jose (30*). The home side made a spirited effort to chase down this total but ended on 235-7 to give the Club its only victory this weekend.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 11.  The 6th XI were due to play Goresbrook 4th XI but due to the very poor availability were unable to raise enough players to fulfil the fixture.
