Four defeats for the top four Saturday League sides and two wins for the 5th and 6th XIs.
T Rippon Mid Essex Premier Division. Because of the reduction in the size of the Premier Division to eight teams the 1st XI have to play the top two teams in the League four times and they travelled to play Bentley1st XI away again. The home side batted first and totalled 290-8, Ian Bryant taking 3-30. In reply Rayleigh were bowled out for 121 only Ben Francis (35) putting up any resistance to an accurate attack.  Â
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 2. Â The 2nd XI hosted top of the table Writtle 1st who batted first and scored 269 -10, Richard Abley taking 6-44. Steven Lynch (42), Richard Abley (31), Craig Baird (26) and Matt Lennox (23) all chipped in to a final total of 183 to lose by 86 runs. Â Â
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 5. The 3rd XI were at home to Marconi and batting first were bowled out for 167, Steve Adams (50) top scoring. The visitors passed this total for the loss of five wickets.
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 7. The 4th XI travelled to Beaulieu Park to play Wickham 1stXI, and batting first scored 178-8, John Wright (55) and Emily Smith (48*) top scoring. In reply the home side looked to be cruising to victory but a mid-order collapse brought about a tight finish with Wickham reaching their target with 2 wickets left and 3 balls remaining. Emily Smith (3-27) and Kelly Castle (3-32) were the pick of the Rayleigh bowlers
T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 10. The 5th XI went to play Rainham 3rd XI in a top of the table clash. The home side batted first and scored 199-8, wickets being shared around. Rayleigh were behind the run rate for most of their innings but a rapid 49 not out by skipper Phil Hammond saw the visitors home by 4 wickets with 2 balls to spare.
Rippon Mid Essex League Division 11. The 6th XI entertained Galleywood 3rdXI, who batted first and scored 136-7 in their 40 overs, Gary Bush taking 3-27. New member Raj (70*) led the home side’s reply and they passed the required target for the loss of 6 wickets.  Â
The 7th XI went to Margaretting to play Galleywood 4th XI and elected to bat scoring 180 all out with debutant Jerim Joy (81) leading the scoring. The home side passed this score for the loss of 3 wickets, D Wicks scoring 90.Â

The Sunday XI lost in the last over to Great Waltham for whom Rayleigh’s Glenn Coleman scored 60 not out.
