Report of week ending 5 July

Four wins and two defeats for the six Saturday League sides.  

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 1.  The 1st XI entertained Stock 1st XI, who batted first and were bowled out for 191, Matt Gilmore taking 5-34.  Rayleigh passed this target for the loss of 3 wickets, Ben Francis (77) and Jason Ox (72*) top scoring.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 2. The 2nd XI visited Springfield 2nd XI who batted first and scored 128 all out, Liam Druce taking 3-7, Luke Sullivan 3-21 and Mike Law 3-55.  In reply Liam Druce scored 23, Rhys Howard 22 and Adam Dudmish 22 not out to see Rayleigh home with the loss of 6 wickets. 

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 5. The 3rd XI hosted Southend Echo Monarchs 1st XI and batting first were bowled out for 111, Tony Catling scoring 39.  The visitors passed this score for the loss of 3 wickets.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 8. The 4th XI visited Chignal 1st XI and bowled the home side out for 98, John wright taking 5-18 and Jai Patel 3-34. Rayleigh passed this score for the loss of 6 wickets, Brad walker (29) top scoring..   

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 10.  The 5th XI played Rayleigh Fairview 3rd XI and batting first scored 198-6, Steve Gosling (67) and Geoff Peddar (40*) leading the scoring.  In reply Rayleigh Fairview were bowled out for 187, David Hall taking 4-30 and Tom Peppiatt 3-33.

T Rippon Mid Essex League Division 12.  The 6th XI travelled to Hornchurch Athletic 4th XI and batting first totalled 134, Chris Grob scoring 47.  The hosts passed this score for the loss of 2 wickets.   

Friendly 35 over game. The 7th XI entertained Westcliff 4th XI and batting first and scored 174-9, Jack Himpfen-Jones (47) and Jon Ward (34).  Westcliff were bowled out for 139, Elliot Ward taking 3-15.

The Women & Girls XI entertained Great Waltham who batted first and scored 96-5 in their 20 overs, Elisha Brett taking 3-21. The Rayleigh reply fell short by 5 runs to lose for the second time this season, Rebecca Holyoak retiring on 25.      

South Essex District Cricket Board Under 15 East Group. Old Southendians U15 71 all out, William Wheeler taking 3-12, Jamie Coleman 3-16 and Tom Lopez 3-26 including a hat trick.  Rayleigh U15A scored 72-5 to win by 5 wickets, Jess Walker 35*.
