Four wins and two defeats for the Saturday League sides and another good win for the Women & Girls XI.
The 1st XI travelled to Bentley 2nd XI and batted first. After a shaky start losing four wickets for 60, Jon Cook with a personal best of 155 not out and Jason Ox (72) put together a fine fifth wicket stand and Rayleigh finished on 322-6. The home side showed no desire to chase down this total and finished on 125-7, Ian Turnbull taking 4-20.
The 2nd XI hosted Springfield 2nd XI, who batted first and scored 240-7, Alan Patmore taking 3-38. Adam Keeley (61) and Sree (55) led the reply but Rayleigh were bowled out for 194 to lose by 46 runs.
The 3rd XI entertained Springfield 3rd XI and totalled 170 all out, Only Steven Lynch (50) troubling the bowlers. The visitors knocked the required runs off in 30 overs with the loss of one wicket.
The 4th XI visited Willow Herbs 2nd and bowled the home side out for 96, with Kelly Castle (3-14) & Conor Slough (3-22) doing the damage. In reply the 4th XI scored 98 without loss, Conor Slough (50*) and Brad Walker (24*) to win by 10 wkts.
The 5th XI went to Wickham 2nd XI and scored 283-6, Tony Catling (78*) and Richard Verrinder (71) leading the scoring. They then bowled the home side out for 175, Gary Bush (4-39) and Andy James (3-50).
The 6th XI played St John\’s Billericay 2nd XI at Rawreth Lane and batting first scored 192-8, Simon Lennox (55) and Duncan Bond (36*). The visitors were bowled out for 104, Luke Sullivan taking 4-47.
In a friendly the 7th XI went to Grays to play Thurrock 5th XI who batted first and scored scored 215-6, Tom Lopez taking 2-17 and Toby Turner 2-25. In their 40 overs, Rayleigh scored 120-5, Dave Turner (37) and Elliot Davies (26*) top scoring.
The Women & Girls XI went to Great Waltham and scored 115-2, Kelly Castle, Rebecca Holyoak and Michelle King all retiring with scores of 25 or more. The home side scored 57-8, Catherine taking 3-7, Elisha Brett 2-4 and Rebecca Holyoak 2-5.
Southend Evening League Cup Semi-Final. Rayleigh won by 10 wickets against Canewdon so now play Great Wakering in the Final.
Colts
Rayleigh U15 XI scored 107-5, Craig Smith (15), Conor Slough (15) and Adam Bailey (15*) leading the scoring. In reply Wickford Under 15B scored 89-7, Conor Slough taking 3-2 and Mihir Patel 2-15 .
Batting first against Old Southendians the Under 15B XI were reduced to 20 for 6 before a useful 7th wicket partnership between Toby Turner (20) and Cameron MacDonald (12) enabled them to reach 57-8 in their 20 overs. Old Southendians passed this total for the loss of 5 wickets.
Belhus Under 13 scored 108-6 in their 20 overs, Thomas Lopez taking 2-8 but in reply Rayleigh U13 collapsed to an all out total of 25.
Rayleigh Under 11A scored 331-1 net score 326, Rayleigh Fairview Under 11s 255-2 net score 245. Rayleigh win by 81 runs.
Wickford Under 11B scored 270-6 net score 240, Rayleigh Under 11B 291-4 net score 271. Rayleigh win by 31 runs.
